Girls flag football tryouts will be 5-7 August from 4-6pm. All girls wishing to tryout must complete the sports tryout packet on www.athleticclearance.com. All girls trying out must have an approved sports physical uploaded in Athletic Clearance in order to tryout. Tryouts: 1. Tryout times will be 4-6 pm each day. We will close the gates at 4 pm. 2. Bring cleats (no metal cleats/if you do not have a pair, you can tryout in sneakers. I wouldn't buy cleats just to tryout.), a bottle filled with water, a mouthpiece, and dress out. No shirts with team names. Clothes need to be within the dress code. You need to bring a shirt with your last name on the shirt and you will need to wear it each day of tryouts. 4. LAJH will be holding a Girls Flag Football Camp starting July 29th and ending on the 30th. The camp will run from 8-12pm and is open to all incoming 7th graders and rising 8th graders. What will be I doing at camp? Each day will start with a one to two hour skills training, followed by live scrimmages. Girls will be taught basic catching skills, how to run proper pass routes, offensive positions, responsibilities of each position, how to line up and run plays, proper flag pulling, defensive positions, defensive strategies, zone coverage, and teamwork. The live scrimmages will incorporate what they learned earlier.
